Seminar on navigating higher study overseas held at JU

A seminar titled ‘Higher Study 360°’ focused on navigating higher studies overseas was held at Jahangirnagar University on Friday.
The event was organized by the Jahangirnagar University Higher Study Club (JUHSC) in collaboration with EducationUSA, the US Embassy in Bangladesh, and IDP Bangladesh, taking place at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan addressed the seminar as the chief guest.
Lauding such initiatives like seminars by JUHSC, Prof Ahsan said, “This type of seminar can provide valuable information and assistance to both faculty and students regarding higher education. students would have the opportunity to learn about funding options for studying abroad.”
“Teachers and students can enhance their careers by completing Master's, MPhil, and PhD degrees from the United States, thereby contributing more significantly to education,” said Prof Kamrul Ahsan.
“We aim to provide comprehensive support in higher education," he affirmed, adding that the university administration would work to create more opportunities for faculty and students in this area.
Stephen Ebeli, Public Affairs officer of US Embassy in Bangladesh, said, “US-based universities offer various benefits to Bangladeshi students. Many of them enjoy a successful academic life there, while others return to Bangladesh to contribute to the country’s development, which is a significant achievement for both nations.”
Besides, Shohel Iqbal, Education Outreach Coordinator of US Embassy in Dhaka, spoke about the application process for US universities and other related topics whereas K M B Zaman, IELTS Administrator at IDP Bangladesh, conducted a master class on IELTS preparation.
Other speakers included Pro-VC (Academic) Prof. M Mahfuzur Rahman and Proctor Prof. ASM Rashidul Alam, JUHSC Adviser Mahade Hasan Dipu along with faculty from various departments and institutes.
Since its inception, the JUHSC has organized numerous programs, including seminars and symposiums, to provide comprehensive guidance for students pursuing higher education abroad.
