Seminar on modern biotech held at Gazipur

A seminar on Modern Biotechnology was held at Bhawal Badre Alam Government College, Gazipur. The seminar titled “Modern Biotechnology: A New Era of Biological Science” was organized by the Department of Botany on Monday (May 13th).
In this hour-long seminar, the chief guest of the program, Principal Prof. B. M. Abdul Hannan. Under the chairmanship of Head of Department of Botany Professor Shirin Sultana Akhtar, Vice Principal Professor Md. Shawkat AlI, General secretary of the teachers' council, associate professor Dr. Akhtaruzzaman was present as a special guest.
Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Akhtar Jahan Shammi, Gouri Das, Sohana Akhtar, Abu Sayed and Lecturer Maliha were present among others. Besides, undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Botany Department were also present.
After the welcome address by the Head of the Department, the guests delivered their speeches. The speakers highlighted the importance of modern biotechnology in their speeches. Besides, in the speech of the chief guest, the principal urged the postgraduate students to do more work on biotechnology in field work.
Lecturer Maliha presented the main article in the seminar. She extensively discussed the inception, development and application of biotechnology. An open question and answer session was held for the students after the keynote lecture. Assistant Professor Akhtar Jahan Shammi hosted the whole program.
