In a bid to share the joy of Eid-ul-Azha with marginalized communities, a mass beef distribution program was held today for 1,470 poverty-stricken families in the Faridpur Sadar Upazila. The charitable initiative was organized by the Beneficiaries Friendship Forum (BFF) with the comprehensive collaboration of Islamic Relief Worldwide, Bangladesh.

Each selected family received two kilograms of sacrificial beef. The distribution operations commenced at 9:00 AM on Friday at the FDA Office premises in the city's Tepurakandi area and continued at 11:00 AM at the Hazar Bigha Government Primary School ground under Char Madhabdia Union.

Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Member of Parliament for the Faridpur-3 (Sadar) constituency, officially inaugurated the humanitarian program as the chief guest by joining the ceremony virtually.

The distribution events were presided over by A N M Fazlul Hadi Sabbir, Executive Director of the Beneficiaries Friendship Forum (BFF). The program saw the presence of several administrative officials and prominent local personalities, including Faridpur Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Shafiqul Islam, Urban Social Service Officer A S M Shujauddin Rashed, FDA Advisor Md. Azaharul Islam, Islamic Relief Worldwide Program Officer Ashraful Alam Sagar, Faridpur Press Club General Secretary Mahbub Hossain Pial, and FDA Executive Director Abu Shaher Alam, among others.

Speaking at the venues, organizers and guests noted that families living in remote riverine islands (chars) often miss out on the festivities of Eid-ul-Azha due to severe financial constraints.
