Russian delegation meets DU VC

Mr. German Dmitrievich Zubovich, Deputy Director of the 'National Education System Coordination Department' of the Ministry of Education of Russia, and Mr. Alexander Vasilievich Parkin, Advisor to the 'International Cooperation Center', met with the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam, at his office on Wednesday.
At this time, Miss Alexandra A. Khelvonoy, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Dhaka and Director of the Russian House, Mr. Prashant Kumar Barman, Head of the Cultural Programs Department, and Mr. Delwar Hossain, Senior Administrative Officer of the same embassy, were present.
During the meeting, they discussed various issues of mutual interest, especially the strengthening of ongoing joint education and research activities between Dhaka University and various universities in Russia. In addition, they also talked about the possibility of launching a 9-month free course on Russian language education at the Institute of Modern Languages, Dhaka University, in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Education.
They agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to undertake further joint education and research activities between Dhaka University and various universities in Russia.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam said that Bangladesh and Russia have a long-standing historical relationship. He expressed hope that this bilateral relationship will be further strengthened through education and research.
