Shifting the blame for Gopibagh train fire to the ruling party men, BNP Senior Secretary General Ruhil Kabir Rizvi has said that the ruling quarter has once again engaged in playing a game with fire, following its previous tricks, in pursuit of its political gain.
“The ruling quarter is once again engaged in playing a dangerous game with fire following its previous tricks. It wants to pursue its political gain through holding a lopsided election,” Rizvi said.
Rizvi made the allegation in a post-procession rally held in the capital, Dhaka, on Saturday morning in support of the 48-hour nationwide hartal enforced to protest the 7 January dummy election.
Expressing his party’s strong condemnation to the fire incident that claimed four lives, he said that the ruling quarter was involved in the arson attack but the government is now shifting the blame onto the BNP men.
“The government is playing a hide-and-seek game with the lives of people after resorting to acts of terrorism. They are hatching a conspiracy to materialise an authoritarian state and shifting the blame onto the BNP men,” alleged the BNP leader.
Claiming that the Gopibagh train fire is a motivated incident, Rizvi further said the government wants to hang on to the state power by eliminating the BNP from the country.
