Role of Cache Server in Information Technology

Md Jahedul Islam

Cache servers are collaborative network systems or local data storage systems connected to the main servers of sites such as Google, Facebook or YouTube. For example - an internet user from a certain country watches a video on YouTube. By watching this video the bandwidth is from America or Europe as opposed to this video.

Bandwidth against the video after one viewing will be credited to the internet user's internet service provider's server. Then every time the customer of that country watches that video then it will be shown from that server. Then again, unlike that video, bandwidth doesn't have to be fetched from America or Europe. The biggest advantage of installing this cache server is that the internet service can be provided at high speed against popular content. The main reason for this is that bandwidth, unlike content, is stored on local cache servers. Internet service provider costs are also reduced as bandwidth does not need to be transported repeatedly.

In a word the closer the cash server is then the faster the customer will get the service. The cache server basically works to reduce the distance between the main server and the users. It also controls server and internet bandwidth pressure. There are many visitors who have to visit a website frequently. Then loading a website for a long time becomes a cause of annoyance for them. A cache system is used to reduce the loading time of a website. Locally used webpages and other internet content are saved in the cache server.

Cache servers play a role in increasing the speed of Internet data and at the same time reducing bandwidth demands by directing the serving of previously used data from temporary storage or cache. Currently customers use platforms like Google, YouTube or Facebook the most. They have their main servers in the United States. Therefore if the cache server of a place is closed, when using Google, YouTube, Facebook, you have to get data directly from that server in America. As a result its speed decreases a lot.

To solve this problem, YouTube, Facebook and most of the platforms are using caching technology. That is why those internet platforms provide cash servers to various ISPs (Internet Service Providers). The job of this cache server is to bring the main server information from the main server to the cache server. When a user uses a service like YouTube or Facebook then it will no longer look for an American server. Rather it will take the data from the local server nearby and display it to the customer.

Because that content is automatically stored in the local internet service provider's cache server. Later if the same content is searched by a customer of that place then that information can be found very quickly from the local server by consuming little data. As a result there will be no need to use the entire network again from America or Europe. The cache server basically works to reduce the distance between the main server and the users. It also controls server and internet bandwidth pressure. Local cache servers meet 80-85% of the internet traffic generated by internet users in our country. A few decades ago the internet was very slow. Because then there was no cache server at the local level. All types of traffic used to come from the United States. Later tech giants like Google, YouTube, and Facebook started installing cash servers in different countries of the world to provide fast service to customers.

Later it comes to the local ISP. As a result the cost of bandwidth is also reduced and the speed of the Internet is also increased. When the number of Internet users in a place is high then it becomes difficult to control them in a short period of time. In this case by establishing control over the cash server system at the local level more users can be brought under the rules. It is also possible to track user activity using cache. A cache server is a specific network server or service that stores or stores information.

If the cache server does not work then the entire Internet traffic becomes dependent on the international bandwidth. Using data from a cache server has both advantages and disadvantages. But considering all aspects cache data is very important for our online work. Which makes our daily work much easier. Store cache data and restore it fast loading or reduce loading times. As cash is a part of online services it basically works online or in conjunction with the internet. Cache internet usage also improves its performance. By using cache the loading time of any website can be reduced. Also the necessary information about the visitor can be stored. Using cache saves internet or hosting bandwidth.

All user activities can be tracked using cache. It makes the user's work easier later. On the other hand live updates of the website are not available due to the use of cache. Sometimes the updated content cannot be seen on the instant website due to browsing from the website cache data. Also the use of cache has the potential to fill up the free space of the hard drive.
