Rokeya University teacher stages sit-in as DC wants him to address "sir"

A teacher of Begum Rokeya University staged sit-in programme as Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Chitralekha Nazneen allegedly misbehaved with him as he did not call her "sir".
Omar Farooq, Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems of the university, observed the sit-in programme in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday.
Later, students and some other teachers of the university also gathered in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office expressing solidarity with Omar Farooq after the issue went viral on social media.'
However, Omar Farooq withdrew the protest programme in the night as the Deputy Commissioner came to the main gate of the office and apologised.
