Rizvi demands ‘permanent ban’ on opening fire to control political programmes

Staff Correspondent

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed today demanded imposing a ‘permanent ban’ on the power of opening fire in political programmes, empowered on law enforcing agencies by the fascist Sheikh Hasina government.

“From now on, no brutal law of any barbaric ruler can be established in the country. The law enforcing agencies set an example of killing innocent people by opening fire on the protests and movements by using shotgun in the last 16 years of fascist Sheikh Hasina government. But, such a policy will not be allowed from now on. It should be banned which aimed at suppressing any political programme,” he said.

He made the remarks after paying rich tributes at the grave of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar here with the newly formed Munshiganj district convening committee leaders.

“We have to come back from that culture and make sure no government can suppress the people by showing their bloodshot eyes by bringing required reforms to the practice. We will also have to ensure that none can put any impediment to the freedom of thoughts and opinions,” he said.

The Senior BNP leader said the ousted Sheikh Hasina has been hatching conspiracy by announcing hartal and blockade programme from a neighbouring country using the online platforms to get back the fascist regime.

“As she is not getting response from the people, so she chooses online platforms for announcing the programmes,” he said.

Demanding immediate election roadmap from the interim government, Rizvi said the election dateline must be announced.

“We as well as the people have been deprived for 16/17 years. So, an election dateline has to be declared immediately to give us a sigh of relief from the deprivation,” he said.

Mentioning that the reform is an ongoing process and it will continue for the decades, Rizvi said they want to clear that the BNP is not against the reform.

“The reform will be conducted on the basis of the demands of the people. But, it will not be wise to linger the election on the plea of reform,” he said.

BNP Munshiganj Convening Committee convenor Mizanur Rahman Sinha and member Secretary Mohiuddin Ahmed were present on the occasion.
