Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui MP was accorded reception for being elected as a member of Parliament for the third time from Mirzapur, Tangail.

Upazila Freedom Fighters' Association organized the event at the auditorium of Shaheed Bhabani Prasad Saha Government College in Mirzapur on Saturday afternoon.

The event, chaired by Upazila Freedom Fighters' Association Convener Md. Taj Uddin Sikder, was attended by Central Freedom Fighters' Association Member Secretary Sadeq Ahmed Khan, Mirzapur Upazila Executive Officer Khan Salman Habib, Shaheed Bhabani Prasad Saha Government College Principal Md. Osman Gani, Mirzapur Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Russell Ahmed, Upazila BNP Acting President Advocate Abdur Rouf, Municipal BNP President Hazrat Ali Miah and General Secretary SM Mohsin were present.
Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui said in his speech that he will keep an eye on the true history of the Liberation War in the country. He will move forward with that history.

Sadeq Ahmed Khan said, 'The war of independence was not fought on a tea table. Those who were supposed to lead that day fled in the dead of night, leaving 75 million Bengalis defenseless. That day, martyred President Ziaur Rahman not only declared independence from the Kalurghat Betar center in Chittagong, but also carried out a revolution of independence. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was an unconstitutional leader of Bangladesh. Ziaur Rahman began where he ended.'
He also said, 'If you are a freedom fighter, you will speak the truth with your head held high. Do not tolerate lies. For the past 17 years, false information has been given in textbooks on the history of the Liberation War. And that is why I have demanded that every school in class H, nine, ten and first year in college should have a subject on the Liberation War.'

Earlier, Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui was given a crest as an honor by the freedom fighters.
