Rangamati DC visited affected areas: Section 144 withdrawn

Rangamati Deputy Commissioner visited conflict-affected areas in Rangamati. On Sunday (September 22) at 10:30 in the morning Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Md. Mosharraf Hossain Khan, Superintendent of Police Dr. SM Farhad, along with senior law enforcement officers visited various affected areas of Rangamati town.

Section 144 was withdrawn in Rangamati city at 11 am on Sunday as the situation normalized.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan said that Section 144 has been withdrawn. The law and order situation is normal. So far everything is under our control. A committee has been formed to assess the extent of the damage. After assessing the damage, the details will be sent to the ministry.

Superintendent of Police SM Farhad said that the investigation process is going on. No criminal who takes the law into his hands will be spared in any way. He urged everyone to play a role in keeping the situation normal.

In Rangamati, the 72-hour road and waterway blockade called by the Pahari student crowd and the indefinite strike called by the Vehicle Workers' Owners Workers' Union is on its second day.

Due to blockade and strike, all types of vehicular and naval traffic on the internal and long-distance routes of Rangamati are closed. Due to suspension of passenger and goods transport, the suffering of common people has increased. The prices of goods are increasing due to the suspension of goods transport in Rangamati.

Army has been deployed in Rangamati along with police to control the situation and avoid untoward incident.
