Some 12 people have collected nomination forms in two constituencies of Rajbari district in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections from Bangladesh Awami League.

Among them, 6 people in Rajbari-1 (Sadar and Goalando) constituencies and 6 people in Rajbari-2 (Pangsha-Baliakandi, Kalukhali) constituencies. They collected these nominations from the central Awami League office.

The boat symbol aspirants are said to have collected and submitted their nominations on November 20, 2023 from the Awami League office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital Dhaka.

On Tuesday (November 21), this information was revealed by the office of Rajbari District Awami League.

District Awami League leaders and activists said, 12 people have collected nomination form in two constituencies of Rajbari district for the purpose of election with boat symbol in the next national elections.

However, the leaders and activists will work unitedly for the one who will be given the party nomination. During the Awami League government, there has been great development in Rajbari. Leaders and activists said that Awami League will win this time too.

Parliamentary Constituency 209 with Rajbari Sadar and Goland. Current member of Parliament and Rajbari District Awami League Vice President Kazi Keramat Ali has collected the nomination form for election with the boat symbol in this constituency (Rajbari-1).

In addition, his younger brother Rajbari District Awami League General Secretary Kazi Iradat Ali has also collected nomination forms for the purpose of election from this seat with the boat symbol. Also, Salma Chowdhury Ruma, Member of Parliament of the reserved women's seat has collected nominations to participate in the election for Awami League from this seat. Also District Awami League Vice President Hero Fakir Abdul Jabbar, District Awami League Vice President Akbar Ali Morji and District Awami League Vice President and former Municipal Mayor Mohammad Ali Chowdhury have also collected nomination forms.

On the other hand, freedom fighter Md. Zillul Hakim, the current member of parliament and district Awami League president, has collected nomination forms for the election in Rajbari-2 constituency. Also, Rajbari District Awami League Joint General Secretary and former Dhaka University Chhatra League President Sheikh Sohail Rana Tipu, Central Farmers League Organizing Secretary Noore Alam Siddiqui Haque, former President of Swadhinath Prachik Parishad (Swachip) have collected nomination forms for election from this seat with the boat symbol. Dr. M. Iqbal Arslan, senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and former Deputy Attorney General Farhad Ahmed and former Additional Secretary collected the nomination form for the boat symbol. Sheikh Mah: Rezaul Islam. Currently, he is a member of the sub-committee on forest and environment affairs of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Awami League.

Among the nominees for Rajbari-1 constituency, the current Member of Parliament Kazi Kermat Ali was elected as the first Member of Parliament in the by-election in 1993. Then he was elected with the boat symbol in the national parliament elections of 1996, 2008, 2014 and 2018. The five-time Member of Parliament assumed charge as the Minister of State for Education (Madrasa and Technical Education Department) in early 2018.

However, Kazi Iradat Ali, younger brother of Member of Parliament Alhaj Kazi Keramat Ali, will seek party nomination for this seat. District Awami League General Secretary Kazi Iradat Ali. Kazi Iradat Ali, who is known as the savior of the district Awami League, has not participated in any election so far. But he has played the most prominent role in winning the party candidate in every election. The leaders and activists of all organizations including Awami League think that his acceptance is the most within the party.

Apart from this, despite not campaigning publicly, Salma Chowdhury Ruma, vice-president of the district Awami League and member of parliament from the reserved women's seat, wants to contest the election if she gets the party nomination. His father late Advocate Wazed Ali Chowdhury was elected MP in 1991 parliamentary elections. When he passed away in 1993, the current Member of Parliament Alhaj Kazi Keramat Ali was elected in the by-election. Late Awami League leader Advocate Wazed Ali Chowdhury was a political companion of Bangabandhu. That is why Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina valued the late leader by making her daughter Salma Chowdhury Ruma the MP from the reserved women's seat. Many people also think that the Prime Minister has a good eye on him.

Fakir Abdul Jabbar, Vice-president of District Awami League and former chairman of district council, wants to participate in the election if he gets party nomination. Fakir Abdul Jabbar, who stepped into the political arena by forming Chhatra League, is now a senior Awami League leader. He has an illustrious political life. He was a victim of jail-tyranny and torture while doing politics of Awami League. Because of this, he is also expected to be nominated by the party.

On the other hand, the current Member of Parliament in Rajbari-2 Constituency, Md. Jillul Hakim, a brave freedom fighter, participated in the election 5 times from 1996 to 2018 and won 4 timesIn 1996, he was elected as the first Member of Parliament. Then he was elected with the boat symbol in the national parliament elections in 2008, 2014, 2018. This time he is ahead to get nominated for the boat symbol.

Former student leader Sheikh Sohel Rana Tipu, former president of Dhaka University Chhatra League and joint general secretary of Rajbari District Awami League, is in the lead to get the boat symbol. He was a seasoned soldier of during 1/11 and he is in the confidant of Sheikh Hasina. Therefore, he is also ahead to get the boat symbol.
