
Rains likely in Mymensingh and Sylhet in next 24hr: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thunder showers in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours commencing 9:00am on Friday.
“Rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.,” said a met office update.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, according to the BMD.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Prevailing heat wave may continue, reads it.
Meanwhile, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Manikgonj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue.
The country’s highest temperature 39 degree Celsius was recorded in Rajshahi over the past 24 hours till 6pm on Thursday while the lowest temperature 22 degree Celsius was recorded in Tetulia till 6am on Friday.
A trough of low lies over West Bengal to North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh.
