Rain likely in parts of Dhaka, six other divisions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that rain is likely to drench different places in seven divisions, including Dhaka, of the country.
“Rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions,” the Met office said in a forecast on Thursday morning.
The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it said, adding that day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.
A trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, and a seasonal low lies over the south Bay, the BMD said.
The country’s highest temperature was recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius in Rangamati, while the lowest temperature – 18.2 degrees Celsius – was recorded in Nikli, Kishoreganj.
The highest 17mm rainfall was recorded in Chandpur over 24 hours until 6am today.
