The anti-quota movement is now at the top of the discussion in the country, about the corruption of Abed Ali and some officials. I oppose or support the ongoing movement to cancel or reduce the quota of freedom fighters in government jobs. But why? I am trying to convey that idea. Many may disagree with my thoughts and many may agree. But whatever it is, you must analyze the judgment and take the truth forward. The main objective of the quota system is to ensure that a reasonable number of people can be represented in various institutions.

Not only in our country but also in other countries of the world there are some reserved seats in higher education and government jobs for the advancement of backward groups. Neighboring India also has a quota system in government jobs. There are total 4 types of quotas in India; Tribal Quota, Caste Based Quota, Other Backward Quota and Minority Quota in different states. A tribal quota of 7.5 percent, a caste-based quota of 15 percent and a 27 percent quota for minorities and other backward classes exist in government jobs and higher education in India.

Pakistan's quota system is determined based on the population of different regions. Quota facilities are provided in that proportion depending on the population in different regions. In government jobs in Pakistan only 7.5 percent jobs from the whole country are based on merit, qualification and experience. Quota in government jobs in Nepal is divided into two parts. One is 55 percent general quota and the other is 45 percent reserved quota. Reserved quota includes women, tribals, Madhesi, Dalit community, disabled and backward communities. Developed countries like Canada also have quotas, but those quotas apply to truly disadvantaged communities.

In Canada quotas apply mainly to four classes. The four categories are women, disabled, tribals and minorities. To empower women, the European Union adopted a plan in 2012 to achieve 40 percent female representation in non-executive jobs by 2020. In the United States, the quota system is called the Affirmative Action Policy. Under the policy, blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans were guaranteed jobs and proper education in the country. This policy is applicable in government and private jobs. There are also quotas in countries like China, Japan, Malaysia etc.

As far as I know, to get quota job even a quota aspirant has to clear written test on merit. Quota benefit is available only if you qualify the written test. How many people have been appointed in BCS cadre or any other important government posts in Bangladesh in freedom fighter quota and pet quota? As far as I know this number is negligible. So insignificant that adding up all the few would not even be one percent of the jobs. People are not available in freedom fighter and pet quota, due to which the quota remains empty. That is, it is not true that anyone is being deprived a lot because of freedom fighters and pet quotas. This quota does not actually harm anyone's interests. Why are you so angry about freedom fighters and pet quotas in particular? Saying sarcastically, "grandchild quota"!What they want to say is that the freedom fighters are not entitled to any special status or special benefits in our state. What do you mean by these words? If it was the case that hundreds of jobs were being taken away by their children or grandchildren because of the freedom fighter quota, then I would understand that they are talking about protecting their interests. It is not.

It would have been much better to have a quota reform movement instead of an anti-quota movement and a movement for new employment and quick recruitment to the vacant seats. There are many in the anti-quota movement who cannot accept our freedom, liberation war, who leave women education behind and put women in a trap. Want to be locked up. Anti-quota activists would have gained more acceptance if they could have developed a strong movement on issues like bribery, corruption, money laundering, loan sharking, question loopholes, rising commodity prices. All the countrymen enjoyed its benefits.

Many say that there are many fake freedom fighters. Say, we will forget the freedom fighter for him? Some fraudulent type of people try to take personal advantage by forgery, they need to be caught and sent to jail, strict action should be taken against them. But for that my respect for the freedom fighters will end? Will I forget the freedom fighter for the thief? Some people leaked questions, passed the BCS by passing the test on that question, will you give BCS for him? Some of the police steal, the police will give up? Allegations of corruption against the army general, will the army give up? I saw some people saying on television that, 'Did the freedom fighters want quota?'When the war started in 1971, those who went to war for personal gain joined Razakar. Rajakars used to get salaries, allowances, and share in booty. Rajakars are greedy.

Freedom fighters gave their lives for the country. G. Gone to give life, gone to die. Do not know the words of the imam of Jahan? When his son said he would go to war, what did he say? Do you know that? If you don't know, find out. It breaks my heart to say that. But that is absolutely true. Imagine the situation. An extremely powerful armed force has invaded our country. A large army, about one lakh were captured by us on the sixteenth of December. They have modern weapons in their hands - Chinese weapons, American weapons, British weapons, home-made weapons. There is no shortage of tanks, artillery, aircraft ships.

A group of generals are leading the attack. A young man who has just passed adolescence tells his mother to go to war against this huge army. What do you say to them? Angel? Crazy? Stupid? No, they literally sacrificed their lives for the country. No freedom fighter went to war for personal gain. The greedy sided with the Pakistanis, and the patriots went to war. And what is patriotism? This love is not that love. Patriotism is a test in which pass marks are 100-99 out of 100 but fail. Only our freedom fighters have passed this test. No one else in this country.

I regret all my life, why I was not born a few years earlier, could not participate in this exam. They are the best children of the country. Even the thief who broke the prison lock and went to war is better than the most brilliant man who did not go to war. The thief passed the test of patriotism, the scholars who were against us failed, or the highly educated intellectuals who took some sort of safe neutral position. What will you reward the sacrifice of dearest people than those dearest to us? Freedom Fighter Quota or Pet Quota, what you call Natiputi Quota, this is just a meager offering of this nation to our crazy crazy self-sacrificing patriots. Do you dispute its personal interest? I would also understand if someone was harmed or deprived in this quota. That is not happening either. He asked the PSC, they will tell you how many people have been employed in the freedom fighter quota so far. Thirty percent sounds good, but actually a few, appreciable numbers, less than one percent, got jobs in the freedom fighter quota.

Why give up the freedom fighter quota? What is the intention of the movement to give up the liberation war? I don't know the intentions of the movement, many people may have joined the movement because they don't have a clear idea. Some have joined the anti-government movement considering it part of the struggle for democracy. But we have seen some characters in the leadership of this movement, we know them, they are dragging the movement to tarnish the glory of the liberation war. Learn, look at the facts, then take one look at my flag, clap your hands to your chest, sing two lines of the National Anthem and shed a tear. Say, you want to dim the glory of the liberation war, the best achievement in our nation's thousand-year history? You yourself will understand whether the movement is against the quota or against the spirit of the liberation war?
