A protest rally was held in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur demanding the implementation of Tarique Rahman’s 31-point program and the withdrawal of the expulsion order against popular BNP leader Aminul Islam Badsha. The rally was organized by the Dhanshail Union BNP on Monday afternoon at the grounds of Dhanshail High School.

The rally was presided over by veteran Dhanshail Union BNP leader Khairul Islam. Among the speakers at the rally were Kansha Union BNP President and UP Chairman Md. Ataur Rahman, student leader Zahurul Islam Jony, Head Teacher of Rangtia High School Manzurul Haque, former President of the Upazila Ulama Dal Md. Zahurul Islam, Joint Convener of the Upazila Labour Wing Md. Masud Arman, Vice President of Ward No. 8 BNP in Kansha Union Md. Abdul Motaleb, former President of the Upazila Farmers' Wing Md. Abdur Razzak BSc, General Secretary of Ward No. 7 Youth Wing Abdul Motaleb, and Kansha Union Youth Wing President Md. Dulal Mondol, among others.

Speakers at the rally said that Aminul Islam Badsha is the most popular BNP leader in Jhenaigati Upazila, known for his clean image and having served three terms as Upazila Chairman. Even while imprisoned, he defeated the ruling Awami League candidate and was elected Chairman in the 2024 upazila election. However, he was expelled from the party that same year. Speakers alleged that internal party conflict and vendettas led to his expulsion. Since his removal, the upazila BNP has weakened significantly.

They strongly demanded the immediate withdrawal of Aminul Islam Badsha's expulsion order and urged acting BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman to intervene. Otherwise, they warned of launching a broader protest movement.

More than a thousand leaders, activists from BNP, its affiliate and associated organizations, and local residents participated in the rally. After the program, a protest procession marched through various roads of the Dhanshail market area.
