Probe body formed following students' protests at IU

An investigation committee has been formed by the administration of Islamic University (IU) in response to various allegations against Assistant Professor Hafizul Islam of Development Studies Department.
The committee has been instructed to submit its report within the next ten working days.
The announcement was made in a notification signed by Acting Registrar H. M. Ali Hasan on Tuesday.
The investigation committee will be chaired by Professor Kazi Mustafa Arif from the Economics Department, with Assistant Proctor Dr. Moha. Khairul Islam serving as the secretary. The committee consists of five members, including student advisor Professor Dr. Md. Obaidul Islam, Saddam Hall Provost Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, and Mohammad Anwarul Islam Wahab from the Al-Fiqh and Legal Studies Department.
The committee was formed following a meeting of the Proctorial Body and student advisors, which recommended an investigation into the written and oral complaints made by students after protests on October 7.
Previously, students boycotted classes and examinations on Monday, demanding the removal of the accused teacher, citing 27 specific allegations against him.
