Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur Metropolitan Branch has arranged a press conference and strongly condemned and protested against the fabricated statement made by Abdul Wahed Miah, Principal of Rangpur Carmichael Collegiate School and College calling Jamaat-e-Shibir the old vulture. The conference was held at the Jamaat-e-Islami Metropolitan office in Shapla Chattar on Thursday morning.

In a witten statement at the press conference, Jamaat's Central Working Committee member and Rangpur Metropolitan Ameer ATM Azam Khan said, "Jamaat has always played the role of a vigilant guard as a party to protect the independence and sovereignty gained in exchange for the great liberation war. Since its establishment, Jamaat-e-Islami has been carrying out all its programs for the welfare of the country and the nation in a systematic, democratic and peaceful manner. It is relentlessly working against all injustice, oppression and exploitation, in all movements for the people's voting rights and human rights, rule of law, justice and establishing a state without discrimination in a democratic manner. Lakhs of people are associated with Jamaat.

He also said that Rangpur Carmichael Collegiate School & College organized a rally on the occasion of the great Victory Day on December 16 in its premises. At that time, Principal Abdul Wahed Miah said, “The old vulture has taken the Bengal flag in its stride today. Jamaat-Shibir has started playing hide and seek with our flag today."

Regarding this statement Jamaat Ameer said that we strongly condemn and protest against the fabricated statement made by Abdul Wahed Miah. He also demanded that the administration take strict action against this ghost of fascism, Principal Abdul Wahed Miah.

At that time, Rangpur Metropolitan Secretary Anwarul Haque Kajal, Assistant Secretaries Raihan Siraji and Al Amin Hasan, Publicity and Media Affairs Secretary Advocate Kawsar Ali and many others were present at the press conference.
