Policemen directed to be vigilant to keep law and order

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has directed his deputies to be more watchful so that none can deteriorate law and order situation by creating any issue ahead of the Ramadhan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The IGP said this at a meeting with senior police officers at Police Headquarters in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

“All the policemen must be vigilant so that none can intentionally try to get worse the law and order centring student or worker or accident or communal harmony or artificial crisis of daily commodities,” he said.

The chief of the police department directed the field level police officers to carry out regular monitoring to control price hike.

He also directed Industrial Police unit to be catious to avoid any untoward incident centring arrears.

He asked his junior officers to enhance surveillance at power stations to thwart any sabotage.

Continuous patrols were asked to do to prevent mugging, theft, robbery and other crimes.

In the meeting Additional IGP (Crime and Operations) Atiqul Islam pointed out the law and order, bazaar monitoring, security to the industrial zones, traffic management and security plan ahead of the Ramadhan.
