Police operations started in 5 police stations in Rajbari

Police has started the operation of 5 police stations of Rajbari district. They started their activities from 8 am on Monday (August 12). Earlier, the policemen announced an indefinite strike from last Tuesday.

It is known that many police, RAB, BGB and Ansar members were killed in the chaotic situation surrounding the students' anti-discrimination movement. Thousands of members were injured. Apart from this, there were incidents of attacks, vandalism and looting in different police stations of the country. In this context, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5.

Then the Bangladesh Police Subordinate Employees Organization announced a strike from August 6. This worsened the law and order situation in the country. There are many crimes including arson, robbery, robbery and robbery. Apart from this, common people come back to the police station to complain about various incidents. The matter came to the notice of the top officials of the police department.

The newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) ordered the officers and forces of the police unit to return to work by Thursday (August 8) evening to normalize the situation. Moinul Islam. But still the policemen of Rajbari did not join the police station and continued their strike with 11-point demands. They also protested at the district police lines. The policemen also warned that they will not return to work until the 11 points are fulfilled and the police are reformed.

Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, Home Affairs Adviser of the Interim Government, urged the police to join the work by next Thursday in a briefing with journalists at the Home Ministry on Sunday (August 11). He also warned that there will be no job if he does not join the work within this period.

Later, after a meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Inspector Zahidul Islam and Constable Shoaib Hasan, the coordinators of the agitating policemen, announced the withdrawal of all programs including the strike to demand reforms in the police. They all announced to join work from Monday (August 12).

In view of this, the working policemen of Rajbari Sadar Thana, Gowalandghat Thana, Pangsha Thana, Kalukhali Thana and Baliakandi Thana returned to work on Monday (August 12) morning. This has brought relief to the common people.

Superintendent of Police G. Rajbari. M Abul Kalam Azad said that the policemen working in five police stations of the district joined from Monday morning. Apart from this, police patrolling is also going on. Police are always engaged in protecting people's lives and property.
