The country is being changed under the successful leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Despite the world recession situation and the global deadly corona could not stop the wheel of the country's development.

Efficient officers and engineers of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and Public Works Department ( PWD) have been playing an effective role in realizing the Prime Minister's dream.

As a result, the appearance of the 400-year-old traditional Ramana Park is changing with modernization and beauty.

The Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Library Building has also received a touch of modernity in the upgradation and renovation.

Some government residential projects have been completed to solve the housing crisis for judges and government officials.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will inaugurate the 11 development projects implemented under the PWD on at 10 am on Monday ( January 30) through video conference from Ganabhaban.

State Minister of Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed, Secretary Kazi Washi Uddin, Chief Engineer of Public Works Department Mohammad Shamim Akhter will be present in this opening ceremony of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works at Ramna Batmool end.

Besides, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Engineer Mosharraf Hossain along with the top officials of the Ministry and Public Works Department will remain present on the occasion.

The Ramana Park Development Project implemented by the Public Works Department is now awaiting inauguration in continuation of development across the country.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman planted trees there after stopping the horse racing in Dhaka Race Course Maidan, the capital of independent Bangladesh in 1972.

Ramana Park is a 400 year old traditional park of Dhaka. This very old Ramna Park, bustling with people walking in the morning and afternoon. At the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the PWD under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works started the development of the park in 2019.

In continuation of the development of Ramna Park, known as the lungs of Dhaka city, the old lake located inside the park has been excavated and a modern deck with two lanes, red ceramic brick road, culvert, bituminous carpet road has been set up . Modernized toilets, coffee corner, sitting benches and direction signs have been installed inside the park for the convenience of walkers .

Newly decorated children's area with modern sports equipment for children. State-of-the-art LED displays have been installed to entertain the travelers and visitors of Ramana Park. Lampposts and modern lights have been installed to illuminate Ramana Park in the evening. The security system inside the park has been increased. A clean environment has been created.

Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Library Bhavan, Annex Bhavan Auditorium Renovation and ancillary work project cost has been estimated at Tk 17 crore 47 lakh.

To solve the housing problem of judges working in Dhaka, two modern residential buildings with 20 floors will be inaugurated on the same day in Azimpur in the city.

Besides, 288 flats in Mirpur of Dhaka, 288 apartments with 13 floors in Tejgaon, 324 flats in 9 10-storey buildings in Noakhali Sadar have been constructed for the accommodation of government officials which will be inaugurated on the same day ( Monday).

It is to be mentioned that the negative image of this government organization PWD has changed with innovative initiatives and sincere efforts after the Chief Engineer of Public Works Department Mohammad Shamim Akhter took charge. As a result, the corrupt syndicates around government construction works under PWD has been removed .

Construction transparency and accountability has been ensured. Proper quality of construction work in numerous government institutions and establishments has been ensured and wastage of government funds has been prevented.

Besides, under the leadership of the current Chief Engineer, the PWD has built 100 model mosques across the country as per the instructions of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina , which has brightened the image of the government at home and abroad.
