Pitha Utsav held at DU Isha Khan Road residential area

Dhaka University Isha Khan Road Residential Area Welfare Association organized pitha festival, award distribution and cultural programme on Friday evening in residential area grounds.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Akhtaruzzaman was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
President of Isha Khan Road Residential Area Welfare Association Professor Dr. Ataur Rahman Biswas presided over the event, Dhaka University Teachers Association President Prof. Dr. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, General Secretary of Kalyan Samiti Professor Dr. M. Shaheen Khan, Principal of Martyr Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall. Abdur Rahim and the Chairman of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Prof. Dr. SM Abdur Rahman spoke.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, pitha festival is a part of Bengali culture and tradition and the bond of harmony and friendship among all becomes stronger and stronger by organizing this festival.
He said that by participating in various sports and cultural competitions, mutual interaction takes place between children and teenagers of different ages, which plays an important role in keeping their body healthy and mind fresh and in intellectual development.
The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that such events develop human qualities, create friendly relations between children and teenagers and teach them to respect each other.
The event concluded with a delightful cultural performance.
