
Pharmacists have vital contribution in human service: DU VC

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan said, pharmacists continue to make an important contribution to human services. We have to work together with pharmacists to build a beautiful and self-sufficient Bangladesh.
The Vice-Chancellor said this while inaugurating various programs organized on the occasion of World Pharmacists Day on Wednesday at the Faculty of Pharmacy premises of Dhaka University.
Later, a colorful procession was taken out in the campus under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor. Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Feroze Ahmed, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed and other faculty members, students and people related to pharmacy profession participated. Dhaka University Faculty of Pharmacy and Department of Pharmacy jointly organized various programs on the occasion of the day. This year the theme of the day is 'Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan said pharmacists are working as a specialized professional group all over the world. Pharmacists continue to make unique contributions to the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Bangladesh despite various crises. Emphasizing the university's connection with pharmacists in the field of education and research, the Vice-Chancellor said that Dhaka University will always stand by pharmacists for cooperation in education and research.
A discussion session was held at the Pharmacy Lecture Theater on the occasion of the day. Dean of the faculty Professor Dr. Professor Dr. Feroz Ahmed chaired the discussion meeting. SM Abdur Rahman, chairperson of the pharmaceutical chemistry department, Prof. Dr. Shayla Kabir, Chairman of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology Prof. Dr. Sheikh Zahir Raihan and the chairman of the pharmaceutical technology department, Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashedul Islam spoke.
