The people of Bangladesh have never seen so much blood, so many lives, so many injuries, so many deaths except in the Liberation War. The students and people of this country have struggled, Hasina has fled. This has made people angry.

After the past 16 years of tyranny, Hasina has drowned the country and orphaned its leaders and activists after committing misdeeds and committing widespread looting. Fascist Hasina has brutally tortured former Prime Minister and uncompromising leader Begum Khaleda Zia.

She has been imprisoned on false charges. There has been a long 16-year movement under the leadership of Tarique Rahman to restore democracy. Many of our leaders and activists have been martyred and disappeared in that movement.

These were stated by Prof Dr. Mofakhkharul Islam Rana, former joint convener of Mymensingh district BNP and former convener of Pagla Thana BNP, while addressing a pre-discussion meeting of the Iftar Mahfil organized by the BNP at Chairbaria Fazil Madrasa ground in Longair Union under Pagla Thana in Gafargaon on Tuesday. At least 5,000 people participated in the Iftar.

Former joint convener of Pagla Thana BNP and former chairman Abdul Hamid Sheikh presided over the meeting, while former chairman Proben BNP leader Sheikh Md. Ishaq, BNP leaders Abul Kalam, Azharul Haque, Haji Abdus Sattar, Ripon Master, joint secretary of the district Jubo Dal A. Aziz Sadek, student leader Rakib Mondal, student leader Mazharul Islam and others spoke.
