People from all walks of life should work together to build better Bangladesh: Tajul Islam

Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Tajul Islam MP said that the people of all classes and professions of the country should work together to create the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

He said this to Sudhibrinda who was present during the discussion meeting organized on the occasion of the 61st Convention of Engineers Institution Bangladesh on Saturday afternoon.

He also said that after coming to power in 1996, Bangladesh achieved self-sufficiency in food within three and a half years under the leadership of national treasure Sheikh Hasina, which was previously unimaginable.

By the able leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Stating that the progress of digital Bangladesh has changed the picture of the whole country, the minister said that the 1600- MW of electricity generation at the beginning of 1996 has now exceeded 27000 MW.

As a result of 100% electrification, people in remote areas of the country are getting the benefit of latest technology. Due to the use of submarine cables, Bangabandhu satellites etc., Bangladesh is now gaining technological knowledge and excellence in keeping pace with the world in communication technology.

The minister said that education is very essential to build a knowledge-based and modern Bangladesh, as a result of mobile phone and internet, every issue of the whole world is now in everyone's hands. The revolution of artificial intelligence is going on all over the world.

On the one hand, this artificial intelligence revolution is opening new opportunities and creating various challenges for people of many professions. In this new revolution of information technology, only the fit ones will survive, the minister stressed on the people of all professions and students to make themselves competent by acquiring technical knowledge.

Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET ) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman presided over. Engineer Md Abdus Sabur MP (Cumilla-1), Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Abdul Jabbar Khan and others were present.
