More than 300 mango trees have been uprooted by miscreants in Porsha, Naogaon on Sunday night in Shisha Kharpa Mouza of the upazila.
It is learnt that Zillu Rahman Chowdhury, son of the deceased Yasin Chowdhury of Shisha village, along with their partners, had been occupying about 8 bighas of land in plots CS-75,425 and 173 of Kharpa Mouza for a long time.
In the meantime, they had planted about 400 mango trees on the land. But on Sunday night, miscreants completely uprooted the mango trees. Zillu Rahman Chowdhury said that he and his partners own the entire land. They have the documents of this land. But suddenly, Abu Tayyab Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, son of Taher Chowdhury of Naogaon, tried to seize the land by claiming it as his own.
When they immediately informed the police station about this, Khorshed Alam could not show any documents of the land. Instead, he showed a fabricated document dated 15/4/1947. He said that it does not exist. Zillur Rahman also said that Khorshed Alam is threatening them in various ways and pressuring them not to go to the land after not being able to show the documents. He says that people hired by Khorshed Alam uprooted the mango trees on Sunday night. He said that they are preparing to file a case in this regard at Porsha Police Station.
Abu Bakar Siddique, OC of Porsha Police Station, said, he heard the matter from Shahidul Islam, Panel Chairman of Tentulia Union Parishad. Action will be taken if the affected people come to the police station and complain.
