The orientation program for newly admitted students of the Summer Semester-2025 was held at the Bangladesh Army University of Engineering and Technology (BAUET) campus on Tuesday at the university’s Coliseum.
The Vice-Chancellor Brigadier General S M Lutfur Rahman was present as the chief guest.
The program began with senior students welcoming the newcomers with tuberose flowers. The chief guest handed over essential and valuable books for the first semester to the new students, encouraging them to develop a passion for learning. To make the event joyful and memorable, and to break the ice, he participated in an icebreaking session with the freshers from all eight departments.
In his speech, the chief guest stated, “You must maintain discipline in your student life and cultivate good habits. I hope you will adhere to the university’s code of conduct. The BAUET authorities and faculty are with you. I wish for your academic journey to be fulfilling, and I expect you to excel in your studies and become shining stars of BAUET.”
The program was hosted by Assistant Prof A.B.M. Kabir Hossain from the ICE Department. Speeches were delivered by Shahriar Nasim Tanmoy, a student from the Business Administration Department representing the seniors, and Mosha. Samiha Jahan, a fresher from the CSE Department.
The event was attended by the university’s treasurer, registrar, deans of all faculties, department heads, proctor, student welfare advisor, hall provosts, acting librarian, faculty members, officials and the newly admitted students.
