A man named Hasim Molya (38) succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment following a clash over territorial dominance in Kalia Upazila, Narail. In a joint operation, law enforcement arrested two individuals—Siraj Molya (44) and Azizur Sheikh (55)—and recovered a one-shooter gun along with 20 rounds of ammunition.

Hasim Molya died on Saturday while receiving treatment. Following his death, police raided the house of Siraj Molya in Silimpur village, under Hamidpur Union, seizing weapons and detaining the two suspects. The incident was confirmed by Kalia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mehedi Hasan.

According to police and local sources, the clash erupted on Saturday morning in Silimpur village when supporters of Thandu Molya launched an attack on their rival faction, led by Joni Molya. At least eight people, including two police officers, were injured while trying to intervene. Hasim Molya, a key member of Joni’s group, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where he later died.

Following the clash, Joni’s group prepared for a retaliatory attack, prompting a joint operation by law enforcement to prevent further violence. During the raid, two members of Joni’s group were arrested, and a firearm along with 20 rounds of ammunition was seized.

Kalia Police Station OC Md. Mehedi Hasan said, additional police and military forces have been deployed to bring the situation under control. Legal actions will be taken regarding the weapons seizure and the death.”
