NU students will feel proud to be part of this institution in future : VC Amanullah

The National University has undertaken a series of initiatives to equip students of its affiliated colleges with the skills required to face global challenges and secure quality employment at home and abroad or become successful entrepreneurs.
These initiatives include updating the curriculum to meet international standards, making ICT courses and English language learning mandatory for honors students, providing incentives for teachers and students engaged in research, and offering teacher training programs.
To implement these initiatives, the National University is signing agreements with renowned universities both in Bangladesh and abroad.
Speaking as the chief guest at the Freshers’ Reception for the 2025–26 academic year at Ideal College, Dhanmondi, Dhaka, on Wednesday, the Vice-Chancellor of the National University, Prof Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah, shared these remarks.
Expressing optimism that students will be free from session delays by next June, Professor Amanullah noted that, for the first time in the university’s 33-year history, examination results have been published within two months.
He further stated that the university has doubled its scholarship fund from 10 crore to 20 crore taka, ensuring that no student is deprived of education due to financial hardship.
To honor the memory of Khaled Saifullah, a martyr of the July–August mass uprising and a former student of Ideal College, the Vice-Chancellor suggested that the college authority consider establishing a scholarship or naming a building or the library after him.
The event was presided over by Muhammad Rejwanul Haque, Acting Principal of Ideal College, and attended by Professor Dr. S. M. Mostafa Al Mamun, Chairman of the Governing Body of Ideal College, as a special guest.
The ceremony concluded with a colourful cultural program featuring songs and dances performed by the students of Ideal College.
