Due to lack of fire service station in Cumillas Brahmanpara, property worth crores of taka is burnt every year in fire. Due to the lack of fire service station, upazila headquarters and remote areas of haat-bazaar shops, industrial establishments, houses and important structures are in extreme danger of fire. There are sales centers for temporary stockists of petrol, octane, diesel, kerosene in various markets including Brahmanpara Sadar Bazar, Sahebabad Bazar, Chandla Bazar, Madhavpur Bazar, Sidlai Bazar, Dulalpur Bazar Shasidal Bazar in the upazila. As a result, all those markets have to be under extreme risk of fire.

In addition, there are important government facilities including colleges, hospitals, banks, insurance offices in this upazila. In case of fire incident in Hatbazar or any institution including upazila headquarter, neighboring upazila Burichong and district headquarter Cumilla have to rely only on fire service. When Burichang Fire Service received the news of the accident, everything was burnt to ashes.

Over the past few years, several crores worth of assets have been burnt down as a result of fires in various markets including the Upazila Sadar market. For the last few years, the location for the fire service station has been determined, but no effective measures have been received to build the fire service station. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Enamul Haque said that in this upazila various haat bazaars and houses lose billions of rupees in fire every year, fire service station is needed in Brahmanpara upazila soon.

In this regard Brahmanpara upazila executive officer SM Azarul Islam said, fire service is an important issue for Brahmanpara, I am new to this upazila and will discuss the issue at the district level and take quick steps to build fire service.
