
Next elections should be held using PR method : Mufti Faizul Karim

The 34th founding anniversary student rally was held at the initiative of the Barisal Metropolitan Branch of the Islami Chhatra Andolan Bangladesh, demanding necessary state reforms, proportional representation (PR) elections for the National Parliament, and the establishment of a justice-based welfare state.

A student rally was held on the occasion of the 34th founding anniversary at the initiative of Islami Chhatra Andolan Bangladesh Barisal Metropolitan in the city's Church Mahalla (Bibi Pukur Uor Par) premises, under the chairmanship of City President Gazi Muhammad Redwan and moderated by General Secretary Nazmul Islam Sujan.
Speaking as the chief guest at the rally, Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim Shaykh Charmonai, a trusted leader of the soil and people of Barisal, said:
"The Islamic Student Movement Bangladesh has been playing an important role in the formation of education, character, country and religion for more than three decades. In this era of consumerist culture and moral decline, the student community must be developed as idealistic, responsible and patriotic citizens. Since its establishment, the Islamic Student Movement Bangladesh has been working to build the student community on an ideological and moral foundation for the welfare of the country and the nation. Ethics, ideals, discipline and Islamic consciousness are the fundamental foundations of building an ideal nation.
He also said that the mass uprising was not organized just for the elections. Reforms must be carried out before the next elections. The next elections must be held through the PR method.
Professor Muhammad Lokman Hakim, President of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Barisal Metropolitan City, spoke as a special guest. He said in his speech:
"Over the course of 34 years, the Islamic Students' Movement Bangladesh has proven that it is possible to guide the student community in the right direction with morality, discipline, and Islamic consciousness. In this continuity, the students of Barisal metropolis will play a leading role, InshaAllah."
In his speech as the main speaker at the student rally, Joint Secretary General Muhammad Mishkatul Islam, Central Committee of the Islamic Student Movement Bangladesh, said that students are the lifeblood of the nation, and national development is not possible unless they are developed in the right way.
Islamic values must be given importance along with modern education and technology.
Work must be done at every level of society to keep students away from drugs, terrorism, cybercrime, and pornographic culture.
The special guests at the student rally were Islami Andolan Bangladesh Barisal Metropolitan President Professor Muhammad Lokman Hakim, Senior Vice President Syed Nasir Ahmed Kawsar, Secretary Maulana Muhammad Abul Khair, Student and Youth Affairs Secretary Maulana Arifur Rahman, Islamic Lawyers Council Barisal Metropolitan President Advocate Sheikh Abdullah Nasir, National Teachers Forum Barisal Metropolitan Secretary Abul Hasan Muhammad Yahya, and Islamic Youth Andolan Bangladesh Barisal Metropolitan President Muhammad Rezaul Karim.
Islami Chhatra Andolan Bangladesh Barisal District President MM Salauddin, BM College President Ziaur Rahman Naeem, BOB President Hasibul Islam, Charmonai Alia General Secretary Abdur Rahim, among others, spoke as special speakers.
