Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh on August 5. Almost three and a half months have passed since then. Bangladesh army chief Waqar-uz-Zaman said that Hasina has resigned from the post of prime minister. But Hasina-Putra Jay claimed that his mother did not resign before leaving the country. Three and a half months have passed. An interim government has also been formed. But did Hasina resign at all? Even after three and a half months, the controversy did not end. Bangladesh President Mohammad Shahbuddin claimed that Hasina has resigned - she does not have any documentary evidence.

Shahbuddin said this in a private interview given to the Bangladeshi newspaper 'Manavzamin'. According to the President of Bangladesh, Hasina did not tell him anything before leaving the country. He also questioned Chief of Army Staff Waker about this. However, the president claimed that Waker could not tell him anything clearly. According to Shahbuddin, Wakar also said that he had heard that Hasina had resigned. However, Wakar assumed that Hasina did not have time to inform the President. Later, a cabinet secretary went to the president to collect a copy of Hasina's resignation letter. Even then the President could not give any document to that secretary. The President said at that time, he is also looking.

According to Article 57(a) of the Constitution of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister has to resign by sending a letter of resignation to the President. The moment you resign, the Prime Minister's office will be vacant. Recently in that interview, the President of Bangladesh said that around 10:30 am on August 5, a call came from the Prime Minister's residence to Bangabhaban (President's residence). It was then said that the then Prime Minister Hasina would come to Bangabhaban to meet the President. Preparations had also started in Bangabhaban. But within an hour the call came again. It was informed on the second phone that Hasina is no longer going to Bangabhaban.

However, in the words of President Shahbuddin, "There is nothing to debate about this issue. It is true that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left. So that no question ever arises in this regard, the opinion of the Supreme Court has also been taken.” Incidentally, on August 8, the bench led by the Chief Justice of the Bangladesh Supreme Court gave its opinion in favor of the formation of the interim government. It was informed that this step can be taken to remove the constitutional vacuum.
