Two online news portals published a news under the title of UNO's VIP protocol at the Kalia ferry crossing in Narail on December 22.

It was mentioned that the UNO called the VIP protocol and held the ferry for an hour and a half and then crossed the ferry due to which thousands of passengers suffered.

The e news has been published as completely false and fabricated news.

On December 24 (Tuesday) afternoon, when he went to the ferry to find out the real incident, Hanif Mia, a passenger and ferry driver, expressed his opinion that the matter was baseless. At that time, Hanif Mia said that he had not spoken to the reporter who published the false news in the name of UNO.

Ferry driver Hanif Mia and other staff said that the ferry started operating at 9:10 am. The ferry arrives at Kalia at odd times and leaves Kalia at odd times. The ferry operates according to this rule. Sometimes, someone is allowed to cross quickly due to their urgent need.

Accordingly, the ferry was supposed to arrive at Kalia at 2 pm from Oi at 3 pm, but the ferry carrying UNO arrived at 3:17 pm. It was delayed by 17 minutes.

The suffering of the common people due to such a delay is incomprehensible. Several passengers, including Ujjwal Sheikh, a resident of Kalia municipality, said that they did not see any suffering of the common people on the Kalia ferry. Apart from this, district and upazila administrative officials travel to various spots for the welfare of the common people through this ferry. In that case, there may be a delay of 10/20 minutes sometimes.
