
Newly-constructed Japanese Language classroom inaugurated at DU

A newly- constructed classroom under the Japanese Language Classroom Improvement Project has been inaugurated at Dhaka University Modern Language Institute.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal inaugurated this classroom as the chief guest in a function organized at the institute on Tuesday.
Director of Modern Language Institute Professor Dr. Mr. Saidur Rahman, the ambassador of Japan assigned to Bangladesh in the opening ceremony. Iwama Kiminri was the special guest. Director of the project Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ansarul Alam. Teachers, students of various language courses, officials of the Japanese Embassy and related parties were present on the occasion.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, Dhaka University Institute of Modern Language for overall cooperation in the construction of classrooms Japanese government and ambassador Mr. Iwama expressed sincere thanks to Kiminri. He said that Japan has a long historical friendly relationship with Bangladesh.
Since independence, Japan has been cooperating in various ways in the implementation of various development projects especially mega projects of Bangladesh. In addition to education and research, joint cooperative activities are ongoing between Dhaka University and various universities in Japan to enhance students' skills. The Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that Japan's overall cooperation in promoting Japanese language and culture and undertaking joint cooperative education and research activities in new fields would continue.
Ambassador Mr. Iwama Kiminri expressed his sincere thanks to the Vice-Chancellor for playing an effective role in the spread of Japanese language and culture education in Dhaka University and said that Dhaka University continues to play an important role in furthering the friendly relations between Bangladesh and Japan in the field of education and research. He mentioned that the overall cooperation of the Japanese government will continue to improve students' Japanese language and culture education and skills.
Note that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of friendly relations between Japan and Bangladesh, 3 classrooms for Japanese language students and 3 rooms for teachers were constructed at the Modern Language Institute under the Japanese Language Classroom Improvement Project with financial support from the Japanese government.
