Newly-appointed 15 female fire fighters join Fire Service for first time in history

For the first time in the history of the Fire Service and Civil Defense , 15 newly appointed women firefighters joined the Department on Saturday.
According to the terms of the appointment letter, they officially joined the Fire Service and Civil Defense Multipurpose Training Complex located in Purbachal of Narayanganj.
After joining they were transferred to Mirpur Training Complex.
On Sunday (November 19), Director General of the Directorate Brigadier General Md. Main Uddin, BSP (Bar), NDC, PSC, G, MPhil welcomed them at the Mirpur Training Complex.
Later the junior firefighters participated in a photo session with the Director General.
At that time, two directors of the department were under training.
On June 20 this year, the recruitment circular for the recruitment of fire fighters was published.
According to the recruitment notification, out of 2,707 applicants for the post of firefighter (female) through preliminary test, written test and oral examination, 15 of them were finally appointed as firefighter (female) and they joined this position yesterday.
Earlier, no women were appointed and there was no opportunity to be appointed as a female officer in the fire service.
Fifteen who have joined the post of Firefighter (Female) are: Mosha : Majeda Khatun, Papiya Khatun, Pinki Roy, Mocha: Maimuna Akhter, Rima Khatun, Miss Meherunnecha Mim, Mocha: Arjuman Akhter Rita, Mishu Akhtar, Jharna Rani Pal, Mocha: Kakuli Khatun, Israt Jahan Iti, Moshamat Nazmun Nahar, Mosa: Yasmin Khatun, Mosa: Ruzina Akhtar and Priyanka Halder.
It may be mentioned that the post of 'Fireman' was recently changed to 'Firefighter' as per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's order to eliminate gender discrimination. As a result, there is an opportunity for both men and women to be candidates for this post.
