New Government Degree College has produced illustrious minds for nation, says Land Minister

Land Minister Md. Mijanur Rahman Minu termed Rajshahi New Government Degree College one of the finest educational institutions in the country, highlighting its track record of producing distinguished alumni who contribute significantly at national and international levels.
He made the observations as the chief guest while inaugurating the registration campaign for the Dhaka-based HSC Alumni Association reunion of the college at Hare Road in the capital on Friday.
The land minister noted that the institution continues its 58th year of academic service and announced plans to organize a grand Diamond Jubilee celebration uniting alumni from across the globe. He also assured full government cooperation for the infrastructural development and renovation of the college campus.
During his address, the minister recalled the government's ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality, reduce dropout rates, and support financially underprivileged students, particularly emphasizing former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's seminal contributions to expanding female education.
Chaired by the Principal of New Government Degree College, Prof. Dr. Shikha Sarkar, the event featured Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury as an invited guest. Member of Parliament for Rajshahi-3 and Chief Patron of the Alumni Association Advocate Mohammad Shafiqul Haq Milan delivered the welcome address.
The HSC Alumni Association reunion of New Government Degree College is scheduled to take place on December 26 this year.
