New GCC CEO vows to prioritize civic rights at introductory meet

The newly- appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC), Joint Secretary Ms. Tanjila Khanam, held an introductory meeting with all corporate officials and employees on Sunday (June 14) emphasizing citizen-centric governance and the swift implementation of urban development projects.
GCC Acting Secretary and Additional Chief Engineer Sudip Basak was present alongside the new chief executive during the session.
Addressing the meeting, which commenced with the formal introduction of the attending corporation staff and their respective portfolios, Ms. Tanjila Khanam reminded the workforce of their fundamental duties. "We are servants of the people," the CEO stated. "We must maintain our focus on ensuring that citizens receive their civic rights and all eligible amenities seamlessly. Fulfilling the hopes and expectations of the public is our core responsibility and duty."
During the session, the CEO issued strict directives to the department heads and staff to fast-track and resolve all ongoing development-related activities under the city corporation to minimize public inconvenience. She concluded the formal meeting by wishing for the overall well-being and success of the city corporation's workforce.
Later in the afternoon, the CEO exchanged greetings with Md. Mujibur Rahman Patwary, the Gazipur District Representative of The Country Today daily newspaper, at her official bureau. During the courtesy meeting, Patwary presented the newly appointed CEO with a specially curated photo album containing the published report covering her appointment to the Gazipur City Corporation. Receiving the token of appreciation, Ms. Tanjila Khanam expressed her gratitude and extended her warmest regards to the editor, publisher, and the entire journalistic community of the newspaper.
