
NCC continues discussions with experts over July Charter implementation

The National Consensus Commission held a virtual meeting with legal and constitutional experts on Tuesday afternoon to review the implementation strategies for the July National Charter 2025 and issues raised during recent discussions with political parties.
Retired Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice MA Matin, retired Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Dhaka University Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan, Barrister Imran Siddique, and Barrister Tanim Hossain Shawon attended the discussion.
The meeting reviewed key points raised in the Commission’s October 5 meeting with political parties, focusing on practical approaches to implement the charter.
A detailed discussion was also held on the process of a proposed referendum to support the implementation.
The Commission is scheduled to continue consultations with experts tomorrow morning (Wednesday).
Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, and members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, and Dr. Md. Ayub Mia. Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser involved in the national consensus-building process, were also present.
