NBR makes e-return of tax easier
Staff Correspondent
To make the e-return filing process easier for taxpayers, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has introduced a digital registration system for its upcoming e-return filing training sessions.
Interested taxpayers and tax lawyers can register online through the following link: https://nbr.gov.bd/form/e-return-training/eng.
Each batch will accommodate 300 participants, and training will be held at the NBR multipurpose hall starting next week, according to a press release.
The exact date and time will be communicated to registered participants via email.
This year’s training program follows last year’s initiative and is designed to ensure wider participation.
On August 4, Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed formally inaugurated the e-return filing system for the 2025–26 tax year. Since then, more than 365,000 taxpayers have submitted their returns online within just one month.
Except for senior taxpayers aged 65 and above, physically challenged or specially-abled taxpayers, Bangladeshis living abroad, legal representatives of deceased taxpayers, and foreign nationals working in Bangladesh, e-return filing has been made mandatory for all individual taxpayers across the country this year through the portal http://www.etaxnbr.gov.bd.
The NBR said e-return filing requires no submission of documents. Taxpayers can complete and file their returns online based on their own records and instantly download the submission receipt and income tax certificate from the eTax system.
