National Social Service Day celebrated in Morelganj

National Social Service Day-2025 was celebrated through various programs in Morelganj of Bagerhat.
On the occasion of celebrating the day on Thursday , UNO Md. led the program organized by Upazila Administration and Upazila Social Services Directorate Nazmul Islam and social service officer Gautam Kumar Biswas.
In the early hours of the day, a rally circled the main roads of the city. After that, a donation check of Tk 1 lakh and 10 thousand was distributed among 12 needy youths in the organized function.
Besides, wheelchairs were provided for two disabled people, a discussion on welfare state formation and a walkathon were organized. The officer in charge of the police station was present at the event. Rakibul Hasan, education officer. Mustafizur Rahman, Food Officer Drub Mondal, Public Health Engineer Monirul Islam, Mahila Dal President Shahina Ferdousi Happy, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Mashrafe Akib, Nazmul Hasan Tamim and Journalist Shefali Akhter Rakhi.
Representatives of various departments and local personalities participated in the program.The theme of this year's day was "Whoever has no one by his side, there is social service for him".
In the discussion on the formation of the welfare state, the speakers highlighted the various steps taken by the government for the development of the neglected people of the society and urged the local people to come forward for social welfare work.
