In the 12th National Assembly Elections, Golam Sarwar Tuku, candidate of Eagle symbol in Barguna-1 (Barguna Sadar, Amtali, Taltali) and Awami League's candidate in Barguna-2 (Betagi-Bamna-Patharghata) have won .

His closest independent candidate Golam Sarwar got 57874 votes in Forkan Kanchi symbol, Awami League's nominated Adv. Drirendra Debnath Shambhu got 54168 votes on the boat symbol, independent candidate Md Khalilur Rahman got 18754 votes on the truck symbol, National People's Party (NPP) Mahbubur Rahman got 173 votes on the Am symbol, Trinamool BNP's Md Yunus Sohag got 288 votes on the gold scale symbol, Jatiya Party's Khalilur Rahman got 344 votes on plow symbol, Md Masud Kamal of BNM got 66 votes on anchor symbol, Shah Md Abul Kalam of Bangladesh Tarikat Federation got 420 votes on floral symbol, independent candidate Mohammad Nurul Islam got 996 votes on kettle symbol.

In Barguna-2 (Betagi-Bamna-Patharghata) constituency, Sultana Nadira (Nauka Pratik) was elected privately by getting 1 lakh 48 thousand 32 votes.

His closest candidate is the founding convener of the Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) nominated candidate in the anchor symbol. Abdur Rahman Khokon got 1 thousand 951 votes.

Moreover, Bangladesh Congress nominated candidate Advocate Mizanur Rahman got 1 thousand 703 votes in Dub symbol, Bangladesh Supreme Party nominated candidate Muhammad Abu Bakar Siddique 669 votes in single star symbol, Workers Party nominated candidate Zakir Hossain 1 thousand 177 votes in hammer symbol, Trinamool BNP nominated candidate Kamruzzaman Liton in golden scales symbol. Bangladesh Tariqat Federation nominated candidate Abul Kalam got 539 votes and got 1 thousand 14 votes and flower garland symbols.
