The Narayanganj District BNP's five-member convening committee has been expanded to 33 members. On Monday (March 24), the party’s central Senior Joint Secretary General, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, approved this full-fledged committee. Earlier, on February 2, BNP had announced a five-member committee, with Professor Mamun Mahmud as the Convener.
The key members of the Narayanganj District BNP convening committee are: Convener: Professor Mamun Mahmud , 1st Joint Convener: Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan Dipu , Joint Conveners: Masukul Islam Rajib and Sharif Ahmed Tutul, Senior Member: Muhammad Gias Uddin
The newly added 28 members are: Azharul Islam Mannan, Golam Faruk Khokon, Lutfur Rahman Abdu, Advocate Mahfuzur Rahman Humayun, Md. Yusuf Ali Bhuiyan, Shahidul Islam Titu, Majedul Islam, Md. Mosharaf Hossain, Ashraful Haque Ripon, Mojibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mushkat Ahmed, Shahjahan Member, Shamsul Haque Molla, Md. Bashir Uddin Bacchu, Advocate Abdul Bari Bhuiyan, Tasikul Haque Osman, Md. Jewel Ahmed, Mahmudullah, Ekramul Kabir Mamun, Md. Sirajul Islam, Anwar Sadat Sayem, Riyad Mohammad Chowdhury, Rahima Sharif Maya, Md. Okil Uddin Bhuiyan, Selim Haque Rumi, Md. Nur Nabi Bhuiyan, Nadim Hasan Mithu, and Hamidul Haque Khan.
According to reports, on December 24, 2024, a notice signed by BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi stated that based on the recommendations of the investigative committee formed regarding Narayanganj District BNP, the committee led by President Muhammad Gias Uddin and General Secretary Golam Faruk Khokon was dissolved. The notice also mentioned that a new committee for Narayanganj District BNP would be announced soon.
Following a change in circumstances on August 5, various allegations arose against the committee of President Muhammad Gias Uddin and General Secretary Golam Faruk Khokon. In response, BNP's central leadership formed an investigative committee. Based on its recommendations, the Narayanganj District BNP committee was dissolved.
Previously, on November 10, 2022, a nine-member convening committee was formed with Muhammad Gias Uddin as the convener and Golam Faruk Khokon as the member secretary. Later, on June 17, 2023, at a biennial conference held in Siddhirganj’s Hirajheel area, Muhammad Gias Uddin was elected as President and Golam Faruk as General Secretary.
