Dr. Md. Rifayatul Haider has officially assumed charge as the Divisional Health Director of Barisal Division. On the first day of assuming charge, he expressed his firm determination to ensure healthcare for the marginalized population of the division, maintain cleanliness of hospitals, and ensure 100 percent attendance of doctors.

In an interview with the media on Wednesday at the beginning the first day of work , he outlined his visionary plans and government guidelines.

Medical services for marginalized populations: He assured to take necessary steps immediately to ensure healthcare for marginalized and common people in line with the government's overall plan.

Precautions to prevent measles, dengue and diarrhea: He expressed concern over the outbreak of measles, dengue and water-borne diseases such as diarrhea in different places in Barisal division. Necessary instructions have already been given to the concerned officials including the civil surgeon and initiatives have been taken to make the general public aware.

Initiative to quickly launch children's hospitals: Supervision and measures are being taken to ensure quality medical services for children and to ensure that Barisal Children's Hospital can quickly start medical activities in light of the Prime Minister's priority directives.

Ensuring 100% attendance: He emphasized on keeping upazila health complexes, union sub-centers and community clinics operational and making 100% attendance of doctors and health workers mandatory.

"I will strive to manage the country's health system as per the instructions of the Honorable Health Minister and the Prime Minister. I seek the overall cooperation of media workers at all levels and the general public in implementing the government's commitments and goals."

After assuming charge, the new divisional head expressed optimism that with everyone's collective efforts, it will be possible to ensure improved and clean services in every medical center in Barisal division.
