Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury (Hajji Mujib) won the Srimangal and Kamalganj constituencies by a huge margin

BNP candidate and central BNP member Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury has been elected as a member of parliament by a huge margin in the unofficial results of 163 centers of Moulvibazar-4 (Kamalganj-Sreemangal) constituency.
According to the results released on Thursday night, he received 169,674 votes. His nearest rival, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis candidate Sheikh Noor-e-Alam Hamidi (rickshaw symbol), received 49,189 votes. As a result, Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury secured victory with a huge margin of 120,485 votes.
On the other hand, BNP rebel independent candidate Md. Mohsin Mia Madhu received 33,911 votes. Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) nominated candidate Pritam Das received 4,275 votes. BSP nominated candidate Abul Hasan received 920 votes and Jatiya Party candidate Zarif Hossain received 910 votes.
Reacting to the unofficial announcement of his victory, Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury said, "I am very happy. It is a great honor for me that the people have given me the responsibility after a long political journey. I want to protect the trust that the people of Moulvibazar-4 have placed in me. My first commitment will be to develop the area, establish peace and ensure the rights of the people."
