MP Abdul Aziz inaugurates dev works worth Tk 86.5 m in Bonpara Municipality

Development works involving roads, drains, and street lighting worth Tk 86.5 million under the financing of the World Bank were inaugurated in Bonpara Municipality of Natore district on Friday morning.
The project was formally inaugurated by Member of Parliament for Natore-4 (Baraigram-Gurudaspur) constituency, Md. Abdul Aziz, under the Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project (RUTDP).
Among others present at the inauguration ceremony were Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Baraigram, Laila Jannatul Ferdous; Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Administrator of Bonpara Municipality, Md. Zubayer Jahangir; Municipal Executive Officer Hafsa Sharmin; Municipal Engineer Md. Zubayer Mahbub; Sub-Assistant Engineer Ripon Kumar Shil; Sub-Assistant Engineer Raufiul Islam; public representatives, government officials, journalists, and local dignitaries.
Under the project, bituminous carpetinwill be completed on a total of 3,566 metres of roads, including four link roads stretching from Mahishbhanga Bottola to Mahishbhanga Kashem Shah's Pond. In addition, 2,153 metres of RCC drains will be constructed and modern street lights will be installed along the relevant roads.
The estimated cost of the project was set at Tk 104,603,062.80. However, following the tender process, the contract value was finalized at Tk 86,587,283.73. Messrs Hossain Enterprise is implementing the construction works.
The project is financed by the World Bank, managed by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), and implemented by Bonpara Municipality.
Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly improve the communication network in the Mahishbhanga area, reduce waterlogging, and ensure safer, easier, and more comfortable movement for residents. It is also expected to enhance the quality of municipal services through modern infrastructure development and accelerate the overall development of the municipality, according to local residents.
