Modern lab inaugurated at DU Depat of Soil, Water and Environment

A modern lab titled ' Advanced Soil and Environmental Microbiology Laboratory ' has been inaugurated in the Department of Soil, Water and Environment, Dhaka University with the aim of modernizing education and research. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam inaugurated this lab as the chief guest at a function organized by the department on Wednesday.
It is mentioned that this lab has been established under the HIT project of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. AHM Zulfiqar Ali, Chairman of the Department of Soil, Water and Environment. Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Prof Dr. Md. Abdul Karim and Project Director of the HIT Project of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission, Professor Dr. Asaduzzaman spoke as special guests.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam emphasized on conducting research activities for the welfare of the country and the nation and said that the benefits of research should be conveyed to the common people.
Stressing the importance of introducing research awards at the faculty level to encourage researchers, he said that through this, researchers will be further encouraged and the quality of research will also increase.
At the end of the inaugural ceremony, the researchers presented their respective research papers.
