
Mobile phones being made by women of Comilla village

Piaratali Cumilla is a remote village of Adarsh Sadar Upazila. The condition of village roads is poor. However, the standard of living of women in that village and surrounding villages is quite good. Because a mobile phone manufacturing factory has been built next to the paddy field by a local initiative. 90% women workers in this Halima Telecom factory. Some of their homes are in Piaratali, some in Majhigacha, Chatrakhil or Chanpur. Its founder is local youth Abul Kalam Hasan Togar.
Going to Piaratali village, it is known that most of the women workers here have crossed the threshold of primary school. Someone can write the name. That woman now knows mobile phone date level, LCD, LCD lens, key pad, up housing, back housing, speaker net. The young woman who made cloth dolls is now making mobile phones.
In the factory, you can see green crop fields in the village. A gray building stands tall next to a green field. A colorful production process is going on inside it. Rural women working in neat office dresses. Entrepreneur Abul Kalam Hasan Togar and other officials are supervising.
Suraiya Begum of Piaratali village said, I can read Bengali by watching. Low family income. I learned to work in the factory next to the house. Now I can make my own mobile phone, it's as easy as making a doll. I get good salary. I can make my children study.
Two other workers named Barshi Akhtar and Jharna Begum said that because the factory is next to the house, there is no suffering and no cost. Come on foot. Lunch is also eaten at home.
Production manager Mizanur Rahman said, our workers are not behind the village ball. Their products are of international standards. We have created our own market by competing with any product made in the country.
Billal Hossain Titu, a tea shopkeeper who lives next to the factory, said, "Because it is a factory, I have been able to provide a shop." The mothers and sisters of our village have got the opportunity to work.
Entrepreneur Abul Kalam Hasan Togar said, I started with mobile phone accessories business in Chandpur village of Cumilla . The women workers there have little education, they have been brought and trained. We are the leader in their handmade mobile phone accessories business. Now those women are making mobile phones in Piaratali village factory. In future, women will make electronics products and Android phones. There are plans to export the products made by the women of Cumilla village to Europe, America and other countries.
Badrul Huda Jenu, former president of Conscious Citizen Committee Cumilla , said that women are making mobile phones in the villages of Cumilla , it is an exception. Young Togar, the founder of the factory, is a familiar face in Cumilla . I believe women will go far with the hands of an enterprising entrepreneur.
Deputy Commissioner of Cumilla Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman said, the creation of employment by training women in the village of Cumilla to make mobile phones is a commendable initiative. We will look into this matter and try to stand by them.
