Mobile court evicts over 50 illegal structures from Kuakata Zero Point

mobile court has evicted more than fifty illegal structures, big and small, from Kuakata Zero Point in Patuakhali. The eviction drive was conducted under the leadership of Kalapara UNO and Executive Magistrate Md. Kausar Hamid on Thursday afternoon.
Sources said that a group of influential people on both sides of Kuakata Zero Point benefited financially by helping to establish more than fifty illegal structures, large and small. After the matter was published in the media, the eviction drive was conducted on the orders of the Divisional Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner. A mobile court fined a person named Abdul Mannan Tk 500 for creating obstacles during the eviction drive. Later, the upazila administration planted trees in the evicted area with the help of the forest department.
Among others present at the event were Kalapara Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Kuakata Municipality Administrator Yasin Sadek, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Mokchedul Alam and others.
