
Mobile court conducted to ensure road safety in Gopalganj Sadar

To ensure road safety and prevent post-Eid overcharging of passengers, failure to display government-fixed fare charts based on destination at ticket counters, and to stop illegal parking, mobile courts were conducted in various areas of Gopalganj Sadar under the directives of the District Commissioner. These courts were operated under the Road Transport Act by Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Rakibul Hasan on Friday. A total of 7 cases were filed under different sections of the Road Transport Act 2018 at various locations within the upazila, and fines amounting to Tk 47,000 were collected.UNO Md. Rakibul Hasan, who led the mobile court, stated that under the guidance of Gopalganj District Commissioner and District Magistrate (recently promoted to the rank of Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman, mobile courts are being operated in Gopalganj and other upazilas to ensure road safety and to prevent any form of overcharging of passengers during the post-Eid period.He also mentioned that such operations under different sections of the Road Transport Act 2018 will continue in the future.
