Mobassir-Rabeya Trust free eye camp opened in Moulvibazar

The 5-day Free Eye Camp 2024 has started for the 10th time at the initiative of Mobswir-Rabeya Trust in Paschim Dharkapan area of Moulvibazar Municipal area. Moulvibazar Municipality Mayor Md Fazlur Rahman officially inaugurated the Free Eye Camp at Moulvibazar BNSB Eye Hospital at 9 am on Saturday.

Acting Chairman of Mobswir-Rabeya Trust, Syed Humayed Ali Shahin presided over and SM Umed Ali, Executive Director of the Trust moderated the speech, Vice President of BNSB Eye Hospital Dr. Sadik Ahmed, General Secretary, Syed Mosahid Ahmad Channu, Hospital Manager (Admin) Md. Ehsanul Mannan and others spoke.

Among others present were Mawlana Syed Rafeed Ahmad, Principal of Jamia Diniya Madrasa, Dewan Ruhul Amin Chowdhury, Public Relations Officer of BNSB Eye Hospital. Syed Mamshad Ali, Syed Mahmud Ali, Syed Talha Ahmad, Syed Zahid Ali, Syed Mujtahid Ali, Syed Osman Gani (Ifti), Syed Md Samin Yasar, Syed Md Sakif Hasnat, Syed Md Safat Afsar, Syed Imtiaz etc.

Mabashir-Rabeya Trust started the first free eye camp in 2014. In the first year 2014, 90 cataract patients were operated. In 2015, 117 patients with cataracts 120 patients with cataracts in 2016, 195 patients with cataracts in 2017 51 people and cataracts in 2018, 210 patients with cataracts and 70 cataracts in 2018, 184 cataracts and 70 cataracts in 2019, 135 cataracts and 70 cataracts in 2020 DCR) 67 people, in 2022 cataract 185 and eye canal (DCR) 63 people and in 2023 cataract 190 people and eye canal (DCR) 70 patients were operated.

In addition to eye services, the organization has been conducting various activities in the service of socio-humanity, including distribution of health protection during Corona, construction of houses, distribution of rickshaws, distribution of food items in the month of Ramadan, Hajj training, cash donation for the helpless and orphans. The organizers said, after the eyesight test, this year cataract patients About 160 patients and 60 patients with retinal canal (DCR) were selected for operation. Providing medicines and spectacles to patients who received first aid without surgery to about 1500 people.

The free eye camp will run from March 2 to March 6 for selected cataract patients at BNSB Eye Hospital. DCR operation will be done in stages.
