Missing body recovered in Kulaura

The body of Babul Mia (55) was recovered 18 hours after his boat capsized while fishing in Kulaura, Moulvibazar. The diving team of the fire service recovered his body from Khaiya Bill area of Baramchal Union of the upazila on Thursday afternoon, July 14. Babul is the son of Madrish Ali, a resident of Bhukshimil area, except Bhukshimil Union.

Kulaura Fire Service official Solaiman Ahmed confirmed the matter. He said a team of divers came from Sylhet on Thursday morning to search for the missing Babul in Barachhara and surrounding areas. At one stage, his body was recovered from Barachhara (Khaiya Beel) around 12:30 pm.

Earlier on Wednesday night, Bukshimoil Union Parishad Chairman Azizur Rahman Monir said that on Wednesday afternoon, Babul and his partner Azizur went fishing in Baramchal by boat. Around 6:00 p.m., when a storm suddenly started, the boat capsized and they both went missing. Later Babul's companion Azizur is alive.

Babul was rescued but could not be rescued. The fire service's diving team recovered his body on Thursday afternoon. He was buried at the local cemetery after his funeral at 5:30 pm on Thursday.
